Google's problem never seem to stop. Earlier I wrote about Orkut and Gmail security bug. Now its the google news site that is behaving erratically. Its extremely slow and is skipping sections of news. This image shows one such shot where it decided to skip everything. If you are also noticing such behavior, please let me know.
Google needs to stop automating everything. For one it needs to put some serious thought into the kind of contextual ads it displays. The sample ad in the pictures shows the problem. Dont even ask me what it means.
Given the kind of revenue they generate from text ads, I thought they would have classified and filtered all such content. Now I feel, Google should be using language specialists to figure out the good from bad and filter out such content immediately.
There is a lot of noise regarding a security flaw in gmail. In case you still dont know, Gmail had a major security flaw which allowed anonymous sites to steal your contact list. CSRF (Cross Site Request Forgery as it is called) attacks are very similar to XSS. Read more on ajaxian.

Needless to say, the biggest, largest and most profitable organization to affect everyone's life in the past few years has been GOOGLE. The single company that has shook the foundations of Microsoft.
Even though Google has been so succesful, they have had a few failures. Few of the products where Google could have done better were -
1. Orkut - The social networking site of Google. This network is very popular in Brazil and India. It has yet to make a mark in US/Europe. The few major problems this network has are:-
a. Server returns error (Bad donut)
b. Too slow
c. Still doesnt have the basic feature of deleting a friend.
d. Non-intuitive interface.
2. Googlesheets - Word, Excel sheets from Google. It never clicked. Its hard to come close to the standards set by M$. Star-office and Open office have also been doing remarkably well (neither Google nor M$ products.)
